What is Performance Stretch Therapy?
Hands on Support for Better Movement
Performance Stretch Therapy is a dynamic, floor-based approach to assisted stretching that blends science-backed mobility techniques with intuitive, hands-on support. Unlike static stretching or passive bodywork, these sessions involve active participation—using breath, gentle resistance, and guided movement to help improve flexibility, restore joint function, and recalibrate your body’s movement patterns.
Whether you're recovering from a tough workout, managing stiffness from daily life, or simply looking to move and feel better, this method helps reduce muscular tension, correct imbalances, and support long-term mobility. Each session is tailored to your body and goals, offering a personalized experience that leaves you feeling more open, aligned, and connected to how your body moves.

What to Expect in Your Session
Each session begins with a brief check-in so I can learn how your body is feeling that day and what areas you'd like to focus on. You’ll then settle onto a supportive mat while I guide you through a series of floor-based assisted stretches, using gentle pressure, resistance, and movement to target tension and improve mobility.
We’ll work together to find what feels good — you’ll be encouraged to breathe deeply, give feedback, and stay engaged as we stretch. The pace is calm and intentional, designed to help your nervous system unwind while your muscles and joints move through safe, supported ranges of motion.
You’ll leave feeling lighter, looser, and more connected to your body — whether you're heading into a workout or simply back into your day.
Sessions are available in 30 or 60-minute formats depending on your needs and preferences.

Is this the same as Thai massage?
Performance Stretch Therapy is partially rooted in Thai massage, especially in its use of assisted stretching and floor-based work. But it’s a distinct approach that blends modern movement science with techniques like PNF, gentle resistance, and active engagement. Unlike traditional Thai massage, you’ll stay in communication throughout the session to guide what feels best for your body.
Will the stretches hurt?
No — we never force a stretch. You’ll stay in communication with me throughout, and everything is guided by your comfort level. Many clients find the experience deeply relaxing and often say they feel lighter and more open afterward.
How often should I come?
That depends on your goals. Some clients come weekly or bi-weekly for ongoing support, while others schedule sessions as-needed for recovery or maintenance. We can talk through what makes sense for your body and schedule.
Who is this not suited for?
This style of stretch therapy isn’t recommended for individuals with acute injuries, fractures, recent surgeries (unless cleared by a doctor), or anyone seeking deep tissue or high-intensity bodywork. It’s also not a good fit for someone who prefers a fully passive, spa-style experience.
Can I come if I'm pregnant?
Yes, with some modifications. Stretch therapy can be a great way to ease tension and support mobility during pregnancy, especially in the second trimester. That said, we’ll avoid certain positions and techniques to prioritize your safety and comfort. If you’re pregnant, please let me know ahead of time so I can tailor the session appropriately — and be sure to check with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns.
What if I have issues with my spine? Is this safe?
It depends on the nature of your spinal issue. Many clients with back or neck discomfort benefit from stretch therapy when it’s done with care and proper modifications. We’ll avoid any movements that could aggravate your condition and focus on safe, supported positions that encourage gentle release and improved alignment. If you have a diagnosed condition like a herniated disc, spinal stenosis, or degeneration, I recommend getting clearance from your healthcare provider first. I’m happy to adjust the session to fit your needs and work in partnership with your care team if needed.

I'm so glad I tried this with you! My back feels so much better after a week of feeling achey and off. I know I still need to see my Chiro but this was a great start! Thanks again.

I've only had 1 session so far but plan to get a package! I know this is exactly what I need. For me it's mostly my shoulders. They are always so tight and it's hurting my neck and back and posture. I love the strength training we do for this already but this mobility was icing on the cake! Thanks T!

I came in with so many issues! Tamara was so communicative throughout our session that I was able to relax and get the most out of each stretch without worrying that I was going to get hurt or overstretched or make any of my issues worse! And I felt almost lighter as I left or at least like I could stand straighter!
